At Peter Bercher’s farm in Remchingen, located near Karlsruhe, Germany, they needed the best machinery to do all the work to maintain their 100 cows and 100 hectares of grassland.
For this reason, in 2018, when it was time to replace their main tractor, they tested a Kubota for the first time, and they haven’t used another brand since. According to Peter, ‘As soon as I tested the M7 recommended by my local Kubota dealer, it was clear to me that this had to be our new tractor’.
Since then, the farm has been adding Kubota equipment based on its needs. The next thing on their list was a feed mixer. They required a tractor with enough horsepower to mix five tonnes of feed in their cattle shed with a low roof. And they didn’t hesitate to put their trust in Kubota again. The tractor had to be dependable, easy to drive, perfectly manoeuvrable and compact, with enough height clearance to fit in their old cattle shed with a low roof. Once again, Kubota provided the solution with the M5.
It was the same when they had to replace their front-end loader tractor. The M6, which the Kubota dealer provided for a test drive, became their next purchase. This tractor impressed them with its great manoeuvrability. ‘It fully meets my requirements: it has a lot of horsepower, a six-litre engine, all the machines can be attached to it, and it’s very flexible. Every implement fits on every tractor; it’s ISOBUS-compatible with the baler and so on. That was really important to me too’, says Peter.
Once again, the diversity and functionality of Kubota tractors help to optimise the work on farms like Peter’s while improving the working conditions for his operators. ‘What I like most about Kubota tractors is the excellent visibility to the front, rear and all around. There’s plenty of light in the cab, and space, and of course the tractor has great manoeuvrability. Also, I can drive in a very relaxed position when mowing, turning and transporting. I’ve honestly never enjoyed sitting in a tractor as much as I do in the M7. You get in, step on the accelerator, and you’re on your way’, they tell us.
And all this without overlooking other differentiating aspects: their durability and warranty. ‘Kubota tractors are really durable. I’ve never had to do so few repairs on a tractor before after so many hours of work, compared to what I do now with the Kubota. I also like the peace of mind of having a multi-year warranty for a small fee’, the manager of this German farm concludes.
